Hello, I have a 15-year-old cocotte (a vitrified iron pot) but unfortunately the bottom has broken during preparation. I would like to know if I can continue using it because the materials are not toxic. I really wouldn't want to throw it away, or I don't know if there are any. way to repair it?

They break! see here: prudentreviews.com/demeyere-review/ Actually, in real life, the handle of Demeyere DO BREAK off in mayn cases! Its huge danger and a shame on Demeyere! They use only 2 tiny weld dots at each side, which is okay for tiny pans but not for big and heavy 5mm thick Atlantis pots especially Atlantis frying pans which are 3kg with lid, 5kg if full of food and there is a gigantic leveraged force appléied when holding them by the single handle!

Your lifetime warranty is a lie. The only option left for me is to pay 158% of the inferior pot I use on a normal basis just as the way I use with the other LC pots. I boil water in medium heat. The CS addressed the problem with contempt. I did not feel I was treated respectfully. My story was not heard. I have backup of invoice from WS from last year to prove the authenticity. I am starting to think that this is some sort of a scam pulled by Le Creuset as they seem to be making profit out of getting people paying extra for their inferior items which people bought for in regular price. The public needs to know about these highly priced lemons out there.

I guess it depends on the speed of the transition and the directness of the heat. I would probably transfer the contents to another pan…and gingerly add cool to warm to hot water into the pan. Wipe it out once the temperature was where I wanted it to be or pull the dish out of the fridge and give it time to warm up before putting it in the oven. If you set up the oven to start at a low heat…it’s indirect…it should be gentle enough to warm the pan without all these other steps. But like you; I’m babying my pans in the transition.
